Manpreet Singh Badal reviewed the status of Solarization of Bathinda City Project

Chandigarh, 04 January 2022 : Mr Manpreet Singh Badal, Finance Minister Punjab, reviewed the status of Solarization of Bathinda City Project.
According a spokesperson of PEDA, Mr. Badal has also emphasized to push forward the Renewable Energy Sector and to explore the potential in more Renewable Energy Projects in the state. He has shown keen interest regarding the solarisation of the cities of Punjab.

ਚੰਡੀਗੜ, 4 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2022 : ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਸਿਟੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਦੇ ਸੋਲਰਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਪੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਲਰਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਹੈ।

ਪੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ‘ਤੇ ਵੀ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਲਰਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਹੈ।

चंडीगढ़, 4जनवरी 2022 : पंजाब के वित्त मंत्री मनप्रीत सिंह बादल ने बठिंडा सिटी प्रोजैक्ट के सोलराईज़ेशन की स्थिति का जायज़ा लिया।
पेडा के प्रवक्ता ने बताया कि श्री बादल ने नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा क्षेत्र को आगे बढ़ाने और राज्य में और नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा प्रोजेक्टों में संभावनाओं का पता लगाने पर भी ज़ोर दिया है। उन्होंने पंजाब के शहरों के सोलराईज़ेशन सम्बन्धी गहरी रूचि दिखाई है।
पेडा के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी श्री नवजोत पाल सिंह रंधावा ने वित्त मंत्री को पेडा द्वारा किये जा रहे नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा प्रोजैक्टों /गतिविधियों संबंधी जानकारी दी।

PEDA in association with Chandigarh Group of Colleges organizes Asia’s biggest Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 8.0

Chandigarh Group of Colleges in association with Punjab Energy Development Agency Staged the four days Mega Asia’s Biggest Electric Solar Vehicle Championship 8.0 at Jhanjeri Campus, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) which saw the convergence of students from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, and other states.
Total 21 teams have participated and put their heart, mind, and soul into coming out with unique creations in the form of solar-powered e-kart and e-bike. Judges from 14 distinguished organizations were invited to check the performance of each vehicle on various parameters and put the teams to showcase different tests. Coming out with such creations is no easy feat as many teams were observed sweating out day and night and scratching their head to come out with something that can work.

Different technical tests checked the vehicles on their steering ability, their maneuverability on uneven terrain, e-bikes and e-kart were checked on high rise humps and on zig-zag patterns for their control and stability, the top speed that can be attained by vehicles, and how strong and effective were their braking mechanism. Teams had to pass their vehicle through multiple rounds of testing to come out as a winner.
Several dignitaries attended this nationwide event, including Dr. Raj Kumar Verka, Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities, New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Randhawa, CEO PEDA, Mr. M.P. Singh, Director PEDA, Sh. Paramjit Singh, Senior Manager PEDA, Dr. Vikas Chawla, Dean Academics – PTU and Medical Education and Research, Govt. of Punjab.
Top performing teams were awarded for their ingenious creations. Looking at the dedication of teams a cash prize of 1 Lakh was announced by the management of CGC Jhanjeri, in which 1st prize was given Rs. 50,000, 2nd prize was given Rs. 30,000 and 3rd prize was given Rs. 20,000 award.
Mr. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC, Mr. Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director, CGC Jhanjeri also attended on this occasion. Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) is a state nodal agency for the promotion and development of renewable energy programs and energy conservation programs. PEDA has also signed the MoU with CGC Jhanjeri for Research & Demonstration activities in Energy Efficiency.

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਊਰਜਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਆਫ਼ ਕਾਲਜਿਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਝੰਜੇੜੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ, ਐੱਸ.ਏ.ਐੱਸ. ਨਗਰ (ਮੁਹਾਲੀ) ਵਿਖੇ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਸੋਲਰ ਵਹੀਕਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ 8.0 ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ, ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼, ਕੇਰਲਾ, ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ, ਕਰਨਾਟਕ, ਗੋਆ, ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 21 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜੀ ਊਰਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਈ-ਕਾਰਟ ਅਤੇ ਈ-ਬਾਈਕ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮਾਪਦੰਡਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਾਹਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 14 ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਟੈਸਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਾਨ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਤਨਦੇਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਪਸੀਨਾ ਵਹਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਟੈਸਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਟੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ, ਅਸਮਾਨ ਭੂਮੀ 'ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਈ-ਬਾਈਕ ਅਤੇ ਈ-ਕਾਰਟ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਹੰਪਸ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਗ-ਜ਼ੈਗ ਪੈਟਰਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਯੰਤਰਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਚਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰੇਕਿੰਗ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਦੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜੇਤੂ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਟੈਸਟ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਪਿਆ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਊਰਜਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਨੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਗਰੁੱਪ ਆਫ਼ ਕਾਲਜਿਜ਼ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਝੰਜੇੜੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ, ਐੱਸ.ਏ.ਐੱਸ. ਨਗਰ (ਮੁਹਾਲੀ) ਵਿਖੇ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਸੋਲਰ ਵਹੀਕਲ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ 8.0 ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਰਾਸ਼ਟਰ, ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼, ਕੇਰਲਾ, ਤਾਮਿਲਨਾਡੂ, ਕਰਨਾਟਕ, ਗੋਆ, ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 21 ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜੀ ਊਰਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਈ-ਕਾਰਟ ਅਤੇ ਈ-ਬਾਈਕ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਲੱਖਣ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ। ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਮਾਪਦੰਡਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਾਹਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 14 ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੱਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਟੈਸਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ। ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਆਸਾਨ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਤਨਦੇਹੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਪਸੀਨਾ ਵਹਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਟੈਸਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਟੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ, ਅਸਮਾਨ ਭੂਮੀ 'ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਈ-ਬਾਈਕ ਅਤੇ ਈ-ਕਾਰਟ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚੇ ਹੰਪਸ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਗ-ਜ਼ੈਗ ਪੈਟਰਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਯੰਤਰਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਚਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਵਾਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬ੍ਰੇਕਿੰਗ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਦੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲਤਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਜੇਤੂ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਾਹਨ ਨੂੰ ਟੈਸਟ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਪਿਆ।
ਇਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਆਪੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਪਤਵੰਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਨਿਆਂ, ਸਸ਼ਕਤੀਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਤੇ ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਸਰੋਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੇਰਕਾ, ਪੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਸੀ.ਈ.ਓ. ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਵਜੋਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ, ਪੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਐਮ.ਪੀ. ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੇਡਾ ਦੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਮੈਨੇਜਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਪੀਟੀਯੂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਡੀਕਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਡਾ. ਵਿਕਾਸ ਚਾਵਲਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਵਧੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਟੀਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਰਪਣ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਸੀਜੀਸੀ ਝੰਜੇੜੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ 1 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਨਕਦ ਇਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਇਨਾਮ 50,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਇਨਾਮ 30,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਜਾ ਇਨਾਮ 20,000 ਰੁਪਏ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਸੀਜੀਸੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ, ਸੀਜੀਸੀ ਝੰਜੇੜੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਨੇਜਿੰਗ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਰਸ਼ ਧਾਲੀਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਊਰਜਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਏਜੰਸੀ (ਪੇਡਾ) ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਊਰਜਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਸਟੇਟ ਨੋਡਲ ਏਜੰਸੀ ਹੈ। ਪੇਡਾ ਨੇ ਊਰਜਾ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਸੀਜੀਸੀ ਝੰਜੇੜੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਵੀ ਸਹੀਬੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ।

Sh. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Chief Executive Officer, PEDA emphasized upon the need of energy conservation and energy efficiency in the state to meet the
gap between the demand and supply of power. He stressed to adopt renewable energy sources and use power judiciously adopting energy conservation & energy efficiency measures. Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India has launched various new initiatives i.e., ‘Shunya’ labeling programme for promoting Net Zero Energy Buildings,
Standard & Labelling Programme for Tyres, Standard and Labelling Programme for High-Energy Lithium-Ion Traction Battery Packs and Systems and Cloud-Based Data Analytical Tool for SMEs which will also be implemented in the State of Punjab.
Sh. M.P. Singh, Director, PEDA highlighted the initiatives taken under energy conservation programme in the state. He informed the audience about the importance of energy conservation and clean energy in various areas. He also mentioned that Punjab is pioneering in implementing ECBC, more than 80 capacity building programs conducted, leading State in incentivizing ECBC & Green Buildings, Punjab is amongst the top performing States in DISCOM driven DSM programmes for agriculture and non-agriculture sectors. He also highlighted the energy saved by implementing the demonstration projects wherein 998000 MWh energy saved in year 2019-20 as per Report on Impact of Energy Conservation Activities in the State. 2.16 Lakhs energy efficient BEE 4 star rated agriculture pumpsets installed in State.

ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 26 ਨਵੰਬਰ 2021- ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਵਧ ਰਹੀ ਮੰਗ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਵਿਆਉਣਯੋਗ ਊਰਜਾ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਵੇਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੀ ਬੱਚਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਪਕਰਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ‘ਊਰਜਾ ਬੱਚਤ ਬਜ਼ਾਰ’ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਰਜ਼ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
ਅੱਜ ਇਥੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਊਰਜਾ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਏਜੰਸੀ (ਪੇਡਾ) ਵੱਲੋਂ ‘ਇਨਵੈਸਟਮੈਂਟ ਬਜ਼ਾਰ ਫਾਰ ਅਨਰਜੀ ਐਫੀਸੈਂਸੀ’ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨਾ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਾ. ਵੇਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਵਧ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਾੜਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪਾੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਊਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਪਹਿਲੂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਡਾ. ਵੇਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਮੁੱਖ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਹੇਵੰਦ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਟਿਕਾਊ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਸਫਲ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਗ੍ਰੀਨ ਹਾਊਸ ਗੈਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਕਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ, ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕਤ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਲਾਗਤਾਂ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਊਰਜ਼ਾ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ, ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਡਾ. ਵੇਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਪਤ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਖਪਤ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਪਕਰਣ ਲਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਬੱਚਤ ਲਈ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰਜ਼ ਮਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਵੇਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਲਈ ਅਧੁਨਿਕ ਉਪਕਰਣ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕਰਜ਼ਾ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਬੱਚਤ ’ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਵੇਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਪਟਣ ਦੀ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੱਲ ਕਦਮ ਪੁੱਟੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਸਗੋਂ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਊਰਜਾ ਦੀ ਖਪਤ ’ਤੇ ਖਰਚਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕਮੀ ਲਿਆਂਦੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਵੇਰਕਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਹਰ ਮਦਦ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ।

Collaboration with Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA)
MoU has been signed between Chandigarh Polytechnic College (CPC) and PEDA on 16th December 2019. Chandigarh Polytechnic College (CPC) and PEDA have collaborated to support and work on Research & Development Projects on Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency in the state of Punjab. Punjab Energy Development Agency being a State Designated Agency for implementation of Energy Conservation Act - 2001 in the state of Punjab has been making efforts to promote renewable energy & energy efficiency.
MoU was signed by Sh. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, PEDA and Prof.(Dr.) Gurmeet Singh Swag, Principal, Chandigarh Polytechnic College at PEDA Office, Chandigarh to work on research & innovative projects in the field of energy efficiency / energy conservation in buildings, industry, clean technologies, energy efficient appliances in domestic, commercial and industrial sector in the state of Punjab.
In this exclusive collaboration, Chandigarh Polytechnic College shall work with PEDA on the following areas:
- To publicize the program locally and ensure adequate participation.
- To provide strategic research support, guidance and direction for the development of R&D projects.
- Designing, Testing, Performance evaluation and analysis of different technologies.
- To provide experts/ specialists/ faculties technical material and technical assistance in the concerned areas of technology.

Minister announces all assistance for setting up of renewable energy projects in Punjab
Punjab’s New and Renewable Energy Minister Dr Raj Kumar Verka on Monday announced all possible assistance for setting up of renewable energy projects in the State.
Dr Verka, after approving a memorandum of understanding with Desh Bhagat University for a solar plant and biodegradable solid kitchen waste used for generating biogas, said that in the present scenario, the importance of solar energy has increased, so the State government has been emphasizing on the importance of solar energy projects.
The Minister, who also reviewed the ongoing projects of Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), was informed by the PEDA CEO Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa about its major schemes or projects. He said that PEDA has set up 1700 MW renewable energy related projects, out of which, 970 MW are solar power projects.
Randhawa also informed that PEDA is implementing more and more projects based on paddy straw. “Twenty-three projects, with a total production capacity of 260 tons of CBG, are under construction, including the largest CBG project in Asia with a capacity of 33.23 tons of compressed biogas (CBG) per day. The project will be commissioned in December 2021 in Lehra Gaga tehsil,” he addded.

DAV University, Jalandhar has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) for research and promotion of renewable energy in Punjab.
The MoU was inked by Mr Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Chief Executive Officer, PEDA and Dr. Desh Bandhu Gupta, Vice Chancellor. Dr Gupta was represented by Dr Rajesh Khanna, Coordinator, University-Industry Linkage Cell of the University.
PEDA is the nodal agency for implementation of energy conservation activities in Punjab.
Both agencies would now work to provide strategic research support to research projects aimed at energy conservation. PEDA and DAV University would also jointly design, test and evaluate the performance of different technologies developed to reduce the burden on fossil fuels.
Mr Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa said that PEDA would provide experts, technical material and know-how and other support to the University for its proposal to promote the use of unconventional energy. He said that the aim of the tie up was to disseminate technology to the masses through educational, research Institutes and laboratories. Ravi Mohan Kapoor assumed responsibility as Senior Vice Chairman of PEDA

According to the spokesman of PEDA, Mr. Ravi Mohan Kapoor assumed the responsibility of PEDA office in the presence of Sh. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Chief Executive Officer, PEDA , Mr. M.P. Singh, Director PEDA, Mr. Aman Sharma, OSD to Dr. Verka.
Mr. Ravi Mohan Kapoor has wide ranging experience in the field of organizational and financial management. Being associated with Indian National Congress (INC) since 1980. Mr. Ravi Mohan Kapoor keeps himself involved with activities related to Congress Party at many fronts. He has also been associated with various NGO’s which works for the upliftment of the lesser fortunate and are working on environment friendly projects in the society. PEDA inks pact with CESL for EV charging stations

Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA) has signed an MoU with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL) a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power, Government of India — for the installation of public charging stations for electric vehicles in Punjab.
The MoU was signed by PEDA chief executive officer Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa. With this collaboration, CESL is planning to expand its EV transition portfolio and provide accessible and affordable charging infrastructure in the state. This partnership will establish a roadmap for the installation of public charging stations at various locations and promote the adoption of e-vehicles, including two, three and four-wheelers.

The mission objective of this MOU is to work on research on innovative projects in the field of energy conservation/efficiency like Energy Modelling and Simulation, Monitoring and benchmarking of buildings, Net Zero energy buildings. Research and development of energy efficient technologies in industries, technology upgradation to optimise power consumption and research on energy management and its implementation in various thrust areas are its extended objectives.
It is further agreed that Punjab Engineering College will submit R&D proposal on energy conservation and efficiency to PEDA which, after review will be submitted to BEE for approval. The financial assistance/funding of the proposal, once approved, shall be provided by BEE to PEDA which shall further disburse it to the institute as per its guidelines.
The role of the institute is to publicise the program locally, ensure adequate participation, provide strategic research support and direction for the development of R&D projects. The institute will further facilitate PEDA interaction through involvement of researchers through Research institutes/laboratories; and joint hosting of Conferences, Training Courses/workshops.
The MOU that was signed today will mark the beginning of what is hoped will be a long and fruitful collaboration, for promoting energy efficiency and energy conservation and bridge the gap between theory and field through technical inputs at onsite locations.
Implementing ECBC In Construction Of New Buildings Can Save Up To 40 Percent Electricity : Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa
On the occasion of "World Environment Day" Punjab Energy Development Agency has made an effort to promote renewable energy & energy efficiency through workshop-cum-exhibition organized in PEDA Solar Passive Complex, Chandigarh. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Chief Executive Officer opened the exhibition in which energy efficient building materials such as Insulation, AAC Blocks, HVAC, Glass, Lighting, Solar PV & Hot Water, Electrical Systems & Automation were displayed by various manufacturers / vendors. More than 50 vendors participated from all over India and displayed their energy efficient building materials.
While inaugurating the workshop Sh. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa requested to adopt clean and green energy and at the same time energy saving through energy efficient materials / appliances. He categorized that 30-40% energy saving can be achieved by implementing Punjab ECBC in new buildings and 10-15% energy can be saved by implementing energy conservation measures in existing building. By using renewable energy systems along with energy efficiency considerable power can be saved which will offset the new capacity addition thereby decreasing GHG emission resulting to save the environment.

Ms. Sapna, Chief Architect Punjab emphasized upon the benefits of the Punjab ECBC which has been notified and made mandatory for buildings having connected load of 100 kW and above for construction of new buildings. He told to all the stakeholder departments, Architects, Engineers and Builders to use energy efficient building materials and design ECBC complaint building in future.Sh. Balour Singh, Executive Director, PEDA informed that PEDA is facilitating all the stakeholders through organizing capacity building programs and interactive sessions through ECBC Cell created in PEDA office for implementation of Punjab ECBC. More than 1200 Private / Govt. Architects, Engineers and Builders have been sensitized about the energy efficient materials and its use for construction of Punjab ECBC complaint buildings. The exhibition on different construction materials / appliances has been organized during the workshop & more than 150 Architects, Design Professionals, Engineers and Builder's participated in the workshop and shown the interest in the exhibited energy efficient building materials. The experts from BEE, PEDA, manufacturers have made the detailed presentations on availability and cost of energy efficient building materials.

Rajan Mehra joins as Director BoG of PEDA

Under the dynamic guidance of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Cabinet Minister Dr. Raj Kumar Verka, Rajan Mehra on Wednesday joined the office of Punjab Energy Development Agency as a Director Board of Governance (BOG), which is under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources.
Mehra assumed the responsibility of Director BOG in the presence of Mr. H.S. Hanspal, Chairman PEDA, Ravi Mohan Kapoor, Senior Vice Chairman PEDA, Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Chief Executive Officer PEDA and Sh. M.P. Singh, Director PEDA.
Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa briefed Mr. Rajan Mehra about the Renewable Energy Projects/ Activities being taken by PEDA.

Under the dynamic guidance of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Cabinet Minister Dr. Raj Kumar Verka, Rajan Mehra on Wednesday joined the office of Punjab Energy Development Agency as a Director Board of Governance (BOG), which is under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources.
Mehra assumed the responsibility of Director BOG in the presence of Mr. H.S. Hanspal, Chairman PEDA, Ravi Mohan Kapoor, Senior Vice Chairman PEDA, Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa, Chief Executive Officer PEDA and Sh. M.P. Singh, Director PEDA.
Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa briefed Mr. Rajan Mehra about the Renewable Energy Projects/ Activities being taken by PEDA.
Mehra Director, BOG emphasized pushing forward this sector and exploring the potential in more Renewable Energy Projects in the state of Punjab.
He has shown keen interest regarding the solarisation of the cities of Punjab, Biomass-CNG Projects, SPV pumping schemes, etc.
He vowed to work tirelessly for the development and promotion of Non-Conventional Green sources of Energy in the state of Punjab.

Punjab Genco Limited is 100% Subsidiary Company of Punjab Energy Development Agency.
